Hotel Silla in Rome?
 

Hello, folks! As we are looking into hotels for our trip to Rome in October, we came across the Hotel Silla. There isn't much info on it I'm afraid, and they don't have a website that I can find, either.<BR><BR>Has anyone stayed there or know of it, or does anyone have some good recommendations instead? <BR><BR>Thanks in advance.

I an thinking of staying there myself when I visit in June. They do have a web site, its www.hotelsilla.it

I just signed up for it.<BR><BR>I watch many of their shows and have never thought of it.<BR><BR>I ordered two "studies in contrast" from wine.com this weekend. We stayed here a few year ago. It was very nice and I would stay here again. It is across the river and about a 15 min walk to the main part of Florence, but a nice neighborhood. The only negative about it was they kept the heat up quite high, but we would turn ours off imediately when entering the room and throw open the windows for some cool air.

Are you asking about the Hotel Silla in Florence, or another one by the same name in Rome? We have stayed at the Silla in Florence, and liked it very much. I like the Oltr'Arno area -- quieter and with more of a neighborhood feeling than the &quot;main&quot; side of the river. We had a room on an upper floor looking out over the Arno with a great view of the Duomo. Florence, of course, is compact enough that you can walk pretty much anywhere, even if your hotel isn't right in the center of the main sights.

Another thing about the Silla -- they do have a parking garage (for an extra fee, of course). Not that you would want a car in Florence, but we were only there for a couple of days and then going on to other Tuscan towns, so it was easier to be able to keep our car while staying in Florence.

I'm not familiar with a Hotel Silla in Rome. Is there one?

We booked here for late September, then someone said it is a deserted area after Vatican tourists leave the scene.
We think if we can't find one more central we'll just taxi it back to hotel in evening
