hotel rooms in italy-please help

Hi Everyone
I'm getting confused with the rooms in Italy. There are so many types: double standard, french double and double superior, also triple standard and triple superior. I just need 1 room for 1 couple and a friend- 2 double beds are great.. which one is that? Thank you! I know this sounds dumb... please help

You ned a triple, though some "motel-type" places might have two beds in a double, making it work for your needs. I don't think there is any standard meaning to "triple standard" or "triple superieur". You're going to simply have to ask what beds they have.

Best wishes,

Rex

There are very few rooms in Italy with two double beds like those at Holiday Inn, etc.

What you need is a triple; it may be one double and one single or it may be three single, unless you specify that you want one double and one single.

If you really want two doubles, you would have to ask for a quad; relatively few hotels have quads, and they may not necessarily have two double beds but some combination of double and single.

"Superior" normally means that the room is larger or has a better view or is in some way "nicer" than the "standard" room.
