Hotel rooms big enough for families

Has anyone ever found a room big enough in Paris to sleep 4? It seems a lot more common in Italy to find reasonable "quad" rooms, but there does not seem to be anything like this is Paris.

You'll probably get some recommendations here, but be aware that many more hotels have quads (some call them family rooms) but it's not obvious in their ads or websites. They may have only one room or two, and it's not a big enough piece of business for a separate advert or whatever.

So, aside from recommendaions, find hotels in which you're otherwise interested and inquire directly if they have a room for a family of four.

Needless to say since such rooms are relatively scarce everywhere, it pays to do your looking and booking early.

Also, consider apartments--although many have a minimum stay requirement of a week, and you often miss out on hotel services, you can get a one bedroom (and a kitchen) many times for the same price as a double hotel room.

I like the website "" for this reason. You can do a search specifically for quad rooms in Paris.

Some hotels in Paris do have family rooms, or quadruple rooms. There's one hotel in the Marais, the Grand Hotel Jeanne D'Arc, that has reasonably sized ( and priced) quadruple rooms.

There are other hotels, that I don't recall at the moment.

There are plenty of "quads" in Paris - just ask the hotel for "chambres communicantes" - which is two double rooms connected by a single hallway and a shared bathroom. We stay every year at either the Hôtel Duquesne or the Hôtel de France (both in the 7me)with our family of four in one of these rooms.

I haven't used them but I have this info on a hotel that offers quad rooms
Palais Bourbon E-mail: [email protected]
The book Cheap Sleeps in Paris said this is reliable, respectable, good for families on a budget. Not outstanding décor, but very clean and well-looked-after. Ask for a room with a new bathroom. Breakfast included.
Also often recommended on this forum, you can do a search for previous comments. Also look for comments and other hotels at

try a search on yahoo travel.
They let you do quads.
Not everything that comes back is for a quad but at least it says up front and you don't waste your time clicking on sites for nothing.
They say whether or not it is for a quad, if it is free for the dates of your travel and the price.
There are a few other sites, doing the same but don't remember who is who. I think travelscape or travelnow.
