Hotel Room for 4
 

Can anyone recommend hotels in Madrid and Barcelona that can accomodate 4 people. We are travelling to Madrid in June with 2 18-year olds, one boy, one girl. The only hotel (Madrid) I've come across had complaints about the glass door on the bathroom. That would never do. The price was great - much less than 2 rooms but the lack of privacy a showstopper.

We stayed at Best Western in Madrid which was good but the Barcelona Hotel was a dissappoinment so I cannot recommend.

If you give a budget that may help you getter better responses.

We stayed in a quad at the Best Western Carlos V (3*). The locaiton was very convenient, the room was a decent size, and the staff was pleasant.

Many hotels don't mention quad availability on their website or on booking sites. If you see a hotel that looks good in general, email them and ask how they may be able to accommodate a group of 4. Someimtes it's one large room, sometimes a suite, and sometimes 2 inter-connected rooms.

Thanks for the good advice MFNYC. I just got a response from the Carlos V (149 euros) that they do have quads available, but book quickly. Can you give me a brief description of the room? Twin beds, hopefully? Size of bathroom, etc. Location convenient to the Madrid Vision Tour Bus? Thanks.

Our room was one large room. It had a Queen and 2 twin beds. The bathroom was a decent size as compared to other hotels in Europe that we stayed in. You can ask about the bed configuarion. My kids don't like to share a bed, so I always make sure that the room has 2 twins for them.

I don't know about the tour bus, but this hotel was very close to Plaza Mayor and a short walk to Puerta del Sol, where there is a metro station. The hotel is located across the street from the large department store El Corte Ingles.

Madrid is fairly small as compared to some of the other larger European cities, and their mass transit system is easy to use.

They also had a nice breakfast included.
