Hotel Rex Naples
 

Has anyone stayed at the Rex hotel. Is the area convenient to the opera house and the archeological museum. Would appreciate any comments on the hotel and the area.

The Rex is 12 minutes by foot from the Royal Palace (Piazza Plebiscito), 15 minutes by foot from the Opera House (Piazza Trento e Trieste) and 30 minutes by foot from the Archeological Museum. There are many good restaurants very close to the hotel, which is on a side street 50 yards from the Lungomare and behind the luxury Excelsior Hotel. The area by the hotel is very touristy (as there are five large hotels along the Lungomare), and the Borgo Marinaro along the waterfront attracts tourists and locals alike with its numerous restaurants and cafes. Overall, its a very upbeat area.
