I am planning to go to the French Riviera in April 2006. How far in advance should I make hotel reservations?

What restaurants are you referring to? If they're popular that would make a difference.

Sorry, thinking about restaurants. It's the same for hotels too.

Autumn is earlier than necessary. Winter will be fine.

Some hotel sites won't accept reservations this far in advance; you'll need to keep checking every few weeks until the 2006 rates appear. At that point you should be able to make a reservation.
