Hotel reservation a must in Ronda or Malaga?
We are visiting Ronda and Malaga during 2nd week of October. Just not sure which town we will stay overnight in. In the opinion of experienced travelers, can we wing it at that time of year and for that region? Or, should we absolutely make a hotel reservation before arriving in Spain? Traveling by car. Many thanks.

The children are back at school by the time you'll go and the main holidays are over for most families. The crowd out there at that time may be a slightly older generation and not so numerous, so I'd wing it if you don't mind taking a chance and paying walk up prices. Reserving online before hand may well get you a better deal and a hotel more suited to your needs.

If you'll be looking for accommodation with on-site parking, you might be more limited in your choices, so you might want to book such accommodation beforehand.
Will you be staying in Spain through October or only during the second week of October? |
In that region, through 2nd week of October.

We visited Ronda in October a few years ago and were glad we made reservations as we wanted a hotel conveniently located with parking.

Reservation it is. Never thought about parking issue. Thank you all for taking the time to respond.

Are you staying overnight in Ronda or Malaga? I haven't been to Ronda but we did spend 2 nights in Malaga, and we loved it! I wish we had an extra night. IMO, Malaga is an under-rated city. In addition to enjoying the coastal ambience, we also loved walking uphill through the Alcazaba with its lush greenery, beautiful flowers, small patios and fountains, and amazing views of the port and the Mediterranean. We walked up to the Castile for more amazing views! Visited the Picasso museum, cathedral, the Ataranzas market, and loved having drinks outdoors at night watching the sunset! There are many more small museums that we did not have time to visit. The pedestrianized city center is beautiful, too, with marble walkways and pretty architecture, and tons of restaurants and cafes.
