Hotel Relais Bosquet aparment question...

Hopefully SueLV will see this post since she is the one who recommened this apartment, but I would like to get some views of anyone who stayed here.

I went to there website, and the apartment seems great, but I emailed the staff and noticed that this apartment(located on rue Champs du Mars) is on the ground/street level.

If anyone has stayed at these apartments, was noise an issue? I'm not sure if this is a major street, or just a side street and I've never stayed in this area of Paris before, and wanted to get some opinions of whether this aparment is a good place to stay.

Anna, I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression, but I just saw the apartment on their website and it looked interesting.

I did get some information from Ursula on the bonjourparis message boards. Yes, it's on the ground floor, but faces a couryard (not the street), which is fairly small anyway.

I'm glad that it faces the courtyard - less chance of noise - did she happen to mention any other details about the apartment that she liked?

I just went over to the website and found some posts about her stay. Did Ursula ever write a full trip report about her stay there? I only found one thread about the apartment, and she commented that she would write a trip report about it, but I couldn't find it.

I know this 7th Arr. neighborhood very well and can tell you that rue Champ de Mar is a very quiet street. It runs from rue Cler the famous market street to within a block or so from the grounds of the Eiffel Tower (Park Champ de Mars). Nice neighborhood, close to good bus service and two metro stations. If it is located on the corner of Champ de Mars and avenue Bosquet you will find Bosquet to be a major street but not really noisy as this is a residential area with a few restaurants and offices.

I'm a bit unfamiliar with the 7th, and was concerned about the noise that might come from staying on a street level apartment. Any information about this area is always helpful to me!

Anna, I know this area and street well too. I stayed on Rue du Champs du Mar last September for 2 weeks. I also popped into the Relais Bosquet and it looks very nice and is located approx. a quarter of a block off Rue Bosquet. There is a great Patisserie kiddie corner to this hotel. Great block of ammenities. Drycleaners, grocery store, cafe's etc. and at the other end of the block a most enjoyable market Rue Cler. However it is noisy at night due to this very popular cafe hangout for locals at the corner or Rue Cler. I stayed at the Champs du Mar(for god's sake don't stay there) had a room fronting the street and had to sleep with ear plugs. But your hotel is further down so probably would be quieter. The access to buses. metro was great. The short walk to the Eiffel Tower every night to watch the twinkling lights was unforgettable. Can't wait to go back. Enjoy.

I agree with Redd Velvet, although that street is small, I wouldn't call it very quiet or a typical small street in a residential area due to the pedestrian traffic around there from rue Cler and that bar/cafe across from Hotel Champ du Mars. I don't know where that apartment is, of course, but I wouldn't want a street level apartment for some reasons other than noise (like people walking by right in front of your windows). If the apartment really faces a courtyard, that's a little different than on the street.

I have stayed at the Champ Du Mars at least three times and personally I find that area very quite. (Maybe I just missed the party at the Cafe?) The male half of the ownership team is just flat out rude however!

I have looked at the Realias and it looked very nice.

Over the years I have stayed many times at the Hotel Champ du Mars always facing the Cafe Marche and since it closes at 11 or so I never had a problem with noise. In addition to which the apartment you speak of is nearly three blocks away near Avenue Bosquet!

Don't know if this makes a difference, but the apartment is 25 rue champs de Mars - does this put the apartment farther away from rue cler and closer to Avenue Bosquet as Larry suggested?

Actually, I think the apartment is between Bosquet and Bourdonnais on Champ de Mars, even further from the Cafe du Marche. (But maybe nearer the Cafe Bosquet (or whatever its name is).
