hotel recs for rome, florence and venice?

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend some nice hotels in rome, florence and venice? Was thinking in the 3 star range, need a single room and don't want to spend more than 100 euros if possible. Would like a central location...possibly by the Spanish Steps in Rome. Thanks in advance!

For Rome, check out Pensione Panda, for Florence, the guest house Il Porcellino, and for Venice, I frankly don't know if a 3-star can be had for 100 Euros a night. Venice is quite a pricey city.

I do not think it's possible to get a 3-star hotel for 100e for a single. You can start by going to www.venere.com where you can do searches by 1 star, 2 star etc..and you'll get a feel for the price range.

Pensione La Calcina is an excellent 3-star in Venice and has single rooms at that price. It is an lovely hotel and very popular (with good reason) so contact them asap if you are interested.

I had a nice 3* single in Venice for 47 Euros per night - http://www.laforcolahotel.com . But this was in the off-season last December. You can often get good deals through Ryanairhotels.com - that's where I found mine for this hotel.
