Hotel recommendations in St. Remy or vicinity?

Heading to Provence for a few days in a couple of weeks and it seems as though St. Remy might be the place to stay. Anyone have a recommendation? Also, does anyone know where Roussillon, Bonnieux or Fontaine-de-Vaucluse are?

The three towns you mentioned are slightly east of Avignon in Provence - about an hour northeast from St. Remy. Rousillon is one of my favorite towns in Provence simply for the scenery - breaktaking views from the top of the town. Bonnieux the same. Fontaine-de-Vancluse is lovely but touristy.

We've stayed south of St. Remy at Mas de L'Oulivie in Les Baux a couple of times and love to use it as a base (esp if you want to check out Arles/Nimes, etc). We can go to Paradou/Massaune restaurants as well as St. Remy places for dinner.

Check out this web site for more hotel info: http://www.inprovence.com/

Enjoy!

We stayed at Domaine de Valmouriance outside St. Remy in May and it was lovely. The food in the restaurant was also good.
The Chateau des Alpilles in St Remy is one of the sweetest small chateau-hotels Ive ever stayed at.
Runs about 900-1100 francs
Fax: 4-90 92 03 33

AH

Nettina: we also used Chateau des Alpilles (in 1999) and felt it was a delight: wonderful staff, incredible food, lovely rooms, great location.

Another vote for Chateau des Alpilles. The accomodations, service and dinner may well have been the highlight of our visit in Provence. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, lovely setting outside St. Remy, exceptional food...couldn't recommend it more highly! I only wish we had more time to linger there.
