Check out the Château de Cottun, just out in the countryside near Bayeux. It's a private château owned (I think) by an American; B&B rates are around 90€. The web site is full of information about the area:

Have a look at the web site for the Château de Cottun, operated as a B&B part of the year by its (I think) American owner. Rates are around 90€, and there's a swimming pool in the fairly extensive grounds. It's not far from Bayeux.

Also look at the Château de la Bellefontaine (http://bayeux-fr.hotels-x.net/Hotel-...efontaine.html).

We loved our stay there and thought it a great bargain at about $75 a night for a HUGE, quiet, airy room. It does not have a pool or restaurant, though, if that's important to you.

I really enjoyed the Hotel Churchill, right in the center of town, but peaceful and quiet, with free parking.

We stayed here a year ago and enjoyed it. It is out in the country about 5 miles from Bayeaux. Its a old fortified farm house converted into a hotel. Very nice people.

Have not seen the place that we stayed while in Bayeux- right in center of town and convenient to the Cathedral, the Bayeux Tapistry, all restaurants, etc. We stayed at the Hotel D'Argouges. Check site on line or contact at aol.com. We sere very satisfied.

To the other suggestions, I would add the Lion D'Or.

Look for a B&B Les Ramparts. The owners also also operate a calvados (and cider) shop next door. Very near the museum Charles De Gualle.

We were just at the Hotel D'Argouges and had a lovely time. They were in the midst of a remodel on an adjacent building, so I would check, we didn't have any noise and they always started after 9, but I am not sure how much more they would be doing. But lovely hotel, lovely town, and just great overall. We did stop in at the churchhill, and they were a bit rude. Oh and the film at the tapestry is worth the time. And last, a great coffee shop is down the road as well, can't recall the name, but amazing deserts, and across the street from a calvados and other local foods shop. Have fun.

The D'Argouges had the agenda for new bedding, fabrics and wallpaper for the bedrooms.

Also second the Hotel d'Argouges. Right in the middle of town, free parking and quiet. Excellent staff, very nice room.
