Hotel Recommendation in Naples Please

I'm doing one overnight in Naples. I'm traveling solo. I plan to train there, check out the archeological museum, then go to Pompeii the following day. Can anyone recommend a good and safe hotel that will be close to eating establishments and not far from the museum? Or, at least what area I should stay in?

I hardily reco Hotel Pinto Storey in the Chiaia district at Piazza Amedeo. Near the Metro and several bus lines, at one end of main shopping area and near several good restaurants. Also in Fodor guide. Rooms were all redone this year. Staff was very nice and helpful. About 125E.

Thanks mmr41. Does it have a website?

Hi ira,
Have you stayed at the Albergo Sansevero? I was thinking about staying here while in Naples just because of the location.

MizzEve -- The web site for Pinto Storey is "pintostorey.it", remember the rooms have been renovated since the pictures were taken. So IMO they are much better. Fax # is 011-39-081-667-536.
You can also go thru venere.com.

The Parteno B&B and/or the Miramonte HOtel. Both are right on the Bay and near plenty of restaurants. The local bus stop is right around the corner form the PArteno and a few blocks from the Miramonte. Both have websites.

Hi mimi,

Haven't stayed there yet. Have it booked for this trip. It has gotten good reviews on the forum, good rants and raves.

I believe that it has been recently renovated.

The Hotel is the Miramar , not Miramonte. Good description on the Just Back from Bella Napoli post.

MizzEve
Ira is right about the location of the Albergo Sansevero being close to the museum. I found some good info on it by checking tripadvisor.
Hi Ira,
Are you going soon? If so, maybe you will let us know about the hotel.
Happy travels to all

Thanks for the suggestions. I've contacted the Sansevero. It's given me a nice quote. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I second Parteno B & B - great location and Alex, the owner, is a hoot and very helpful.

Sadly the Porteno is booked :-(
