Hotel Recommendation for Fethiye and Istanbul?
Almost done with our plans . . . but I am still looking for an upscale hotel in Fethiye and Istanbul. Does anyone know about the Club and Hotel Letoonia in Fethiye or the Ece Saray? We are two single women in our 40's and will be staying in Fethiye for about 3 nights. We are looking to pay up to $200 per night including taxes and breakfast, if possible. (We'd also be happy to pay less but want to be in a nice place.)
In Istanbul, we are still looking for an upscale but not terribly expensive hotel in the Old Town. Has anyone stayed at the Seven Hills? Or the Armada? The Seven Hills seems to be more centrally located. Thanks for your help! I am looking forward to finalizing my plans for this trip as it's taken way too much time! |
Hello!
Both Seven Hills hotel and Armada are really good 4 star hotels in Istanbul. But of course there are many other good hotels in the city of the same level of 4 star hotels, that are even better and cheaper. Such as Lady Diana Hotel, Ottoman Hotel Imperial, Amiral Palace Hotel, Amisos Hotel. I can give you a more detailed answer on to which hotel is better and why, send me an email at [email protected]. Good luck! |
Non of them are upscale hotels in Fethiye. If you like holiday villages Hillside is good or Oyster at Oludeniz is a fine chooice too.
Happy travelling, Murat |
My wife and I spent two weeks in Istanbul last May. We stayed at the Hotel Sari Konak, about two blocks from the Arasta Bazaar in Sultanahmet. We rented a small suite with separate bedrooms and a very small living room for 199 €/night, minus a 10% discount we received for paying cash in advance. Their standard hotel rooms are less expensive.
We liked Sari Konak. It's close to major attractions (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Hippodrome, Mosaic Museum) and to good inexpensive restaurants (Tamara, Buhara 93), the desk clerks are very helpful, it's relatively quiet, and it has a good free buffet breakfast. The hotel tap water isn't potable, but there are nearby stores that sell bottled water and our suite came with a small refrigerator. I recommend it. People in this forum also recommend the Empress Zoe hotel. I think you can get other recommendations by searching for "Istanbul hotels" in this forum. |
Thank you all! I think we will book the Oyster Residences in Oludeniz! As far as Istanbul, I think we will stay with the Seven Hills hotel for simplicity purposes. Winterday, we checked some of the others and really liked the Ottoman but the rate was higher and we've already bumped up our budget for other locations. Is there a strong reason we should switch?
I am going to post our final itinerary under another topic for any last minute comments. Stay posted . . . :) Thanks! |
