Hotel rec for Cesky Krumlov

Wife and I need a hotel recommendation for Old Town Cesky Krumlov. Ideally something quaint and with a view. Balcony or terrace would be great, but I bet that's rare.

Cheers,

Brendan

We rented a small apartment 3 nights at the Pension Nostalgie 1 1/2 years ago. They came and prepared breakfast in our kitchen each morning. Have a look. http://www.ckrumlov.info/docs/en/uby60.xml There are many other listing on the above site in all price ranges.

We liked Pension Barbakan but that was 7 years ago.

We stayed at Pension Barbakan two years ago and liked it very much. I don't know if any of the rooms had a balcony (ours didn't) but the setting is right on the river. The restaurant next door (maybe its actually connected to the hotel) has a nice terrace outdoors with a pretty view of the river. I remember it being reasonably priced -- maybe $60-70 US for a double.

Depends on what you want to spend & I don't have the names handy. For more pricey, try the hotel @ (Hotel Ruze, I think) the Castle or the one adjacent to the River as you enter town (Hotel Dvorak, I think). There is also a nice pensione on the main sq. opposite the Tourist Office that is much cheaper & they do have small balconies that over-look a neat little restaurant behind the Square.

Brendan, last week we spent two nights at the Pension Barbakan, and can thoroughly recommend it. The room was large and nicely furnished, views great, bathroom spacious, and breakfast very good. Google for websites which show pictures of all the Barbakan's rooms. We had the "red" room, called double de luxe, and the photo on the right is the bathroom.
Hope this helps.
Roma.

Hotel Golden Angel which is right on the main square. In Czech I think it is Zlaty Andel. Very nice

Heartily agree with above post by dwc0201.
The Golden Angel <http://web.iol.cz/www.zlatyandel.cz/> has a great location on the town square and the upper floor rooms have the good view you mention. The hotel (rightfully) takes pride in their customer service. My wife and I stayed there in 2003 and would definitely stay there again.
