Hotel Poseidon Positano

I've received an e-mail stating that the Hotel Poseidon has availability of 1 double room + 1 twin room, with terrace and sea view not adjoining, but on the same floor, available for the days that we will be in Positano this June. Before I commit, can someone who has stayed at the hotel advise as to the layout of the rooms? I want the kids room to be as close to ours as possible. Is there a particular floor or set of rooms that I should request? We tend to retire early and rise early if restaurant noise is a factor.

The hotel is sort of multi-level. It seems to have only a few rooms in each corridor. If the rooms were in the same corridor, I guess I would be at ease.

I never heard any noise from the hotel while staying there. There was a little street noise, and a school was right across from our room. Earplugs kept things quiet for me.

In general, my impression was that the Poseidon is a very well run hotel, and I felt safe there.

But if your kids are very young, or troublesome, you might want to try a suite, if available.

Hope this helps, and I hope you get to stay there, because it was memorable for us. We had a ball. And the food is superb.

Villa Rosa has a great suite on the third floor with 2 double rooms and 2 bathrooms and a terrace to die for. It cost 269 euros mid September. I know some people find Villa Rosa noisy but on the 3rd floor we did not find it so at all.

Thank you both. Every extra bit of info that I can find helps. The boys are 9 and 15 and very well behaved, but I would still feel better if we were all together or at least right next to each other. I've e-mailed to see if they would allow us to be together in a large suite. The one featured on the website looks like a bedroom with a separate sitting room with a sofa and would be fine with us if they added a rollaway.

Hi MarciaMarciaMarcia,

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread but I would like to contact Micheline about Villa Rosa, in particular the 2 bedroom suite on the top floor. Micheline, did you post a review on VR? I have some questions for you. Thanks!

No problem! Anything that bumps up the thread increases the chances that someone will know the perfect room for us to request! Good luck to you!!

Jayneann I'd be happy to answer any questions here or at [email protected].

I stayed at the Poseidon and would definitely recommend it. I think your kids will be fine on the same floor. The hotel is well-run and safe. There is a lovely pool and a great breakfast. If you like to swim in the sea, consider beach shoes because the beach is rocky.

I think you'd be better off with two rooms. We've stayed in one of the jr. suites at the Hotel Poseidon a few times, and it's not as large as it looks on the website. There may be larger suites available, but I still think two rooms with two bathrooms is a better choice.

The hotel is really pretty small, so I can't imagine any kind of safety problems having your kids down the hall.

Have a wonderful time. The Poseidon is one of my favorite hotels!
