Do a search "text search" on Pendini on the Italy forum, and you should get many responses. Several people have written about it.

Debi:
Since you're a new visitor to this website, it can be a bit confusing to locate prior threads which discuss this very topic. So I've cut & pasted a portion of some of the recent posters who've provided their input regarding this hotel. If you pull up these strings in their entirety, then you also may find alternative hotel suggestions in Florence, if needed.

NEED HELP WITH HOTELS IN FLORENCE

Message: Does anyone have any suggestions for a good hotel in Florence that's not too far from all the action for no more than $250 per night?

Message: Hi Tracy,
I haven't stayed at the two listed below, but did stay at the Pendini (they have a web site, you can pix, etc.) It's located literally 5 minutes from the Duomo. It was nice and clean, big rooms and a friendly family runs it. They are very helpful.

I second the Hotel Pendini. There is a lovely view from their breakfast room, too. Cheap, well located, nice staff.

Message: Hi Kathie,
I stayed at the Pendini in florence - (look them up on the web) great location ( a little noisy, cause there is a band outside) reasonable and nice family atmosphere.
I stayed at the Paganelli in Venice (5 minutes from St Marks Sq) small and charming. I liked them both

Message: Hotel Pendini is the place to be in Florence for the price you're seeking. Great spot that is very central to all the walking you'll wamt to do

And another one re: Hotel Pendini. It sounds like you can't go wrong by choosing this hotel!

FLORENCE – HOTEL PENDINI

Message: I just booked 3 nights at Hotel Pendini in Florence. Has anyone stayed there before? Any specific type of room I should ask for? It looks really nice on some sites I checked out. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Message: My sister and I stayed there on one trip. It is on the top floor of a building (it seems that many Italian "hotels" are actually just one floor of a building and there may be other "hotels" in the same building -- at least that's what we found in Rome and Florence). The breakfast room overlooks the square and is quite lovely. The hotel is family run and quite progressive and efficient. There was a computer next to the front desk for guests to use for internet/e-mail access. We liked this hotel a lot.

My friend just sent me an email about the Pedini. We are meeting them in Florence next summer. They stayed at the Pedini last summer and loved it and will be staying there again.

The Pendini and the Casci seem to be the two hotels at the lower end of the price range that fodorites prefer.
