Hotel Paris in Florence
My husband, 15 year old daughter, and I are planning to stay at the Hotel Paris in Florence for one week in March. Does anyone know it?

It's written up as a good hotel. You can see pictures of the hotel on www.florenceby.com.

Just returned from the Hotel Lungarno and loved it.They also have Lungarno Suites, which may be good for you traveling with your daughter.

Thanks Andrea and Natalie for your responses. I did find many positive comments about the hotel in other postings. The package from GoToday that we want to take includes the Hotel Paris and from the photos and location, it sounded pretty good. Maybe being so close to the train station is not so great-- a little seedy, perhaps? But we do live in New York (Manhattan) so we may not think it's so bad. Any way, more comments will be appreciated. I am not sure what to make of "Don't Go's" post-- a joke? If not, please expand.

I've heard that the hotel is fine (never stayed there myself), but the location is awful. The train station area is ugly and seedy. And the hotel is surrounded by busy, noisy streets. You are going to a beautiful city on vacation, you should stay in a nicer area! Enjoy your holiday : )

I was just there in March and I stayed in one of their double superior rooms It was really nice. Very large 20 ft ceilings...ton's of atmosphere and kind of quirky layout. There is definitely a quite side and a loud side and the city buses roar past the loud side very early. Breakfast was decent in an interesting room. I did not feel the neighborhood was bad. There are some very nice shops only a block away and it is very well located for all of the tourist things
