Hotel Pantheon In Rome?

I think I have mad my choice after booking at several hotels, I think Th eHotel Pantheon is where I will stay. I called them and they were so amazing. I booked two double rooms with Breakfast included for 500,000 lire each. I wanted a four star hotel since I am taking my Mother back to Italy where she was born. I think this is my best bet since it is situated between Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain right next to the Pantheon. Has anyone ever stayed there that could give me a personal experience?

While I haven't stayed there, I have stayed at the Cesari, which is very close to the same area - - about 30% cheaper, but three star, not four star.

And your choice of location is very good in my opinion.

Do you mean the Hotel Sole al Pantheon? It's one of the oldest hotels in the world and the location IS fabulous. The room was rather small, but the bathroom was immaculate. The amenities are rather limited, but if you're planning on eating out all the time then I think it's a good choice.

No, I Think it is Just Hotel Pantheon. It is rated 4 starts, and right across form The Crowne Plaza Minerva Hotel. Th epople there were so friendly when I booked, and th epictures on the site looked very nice.

You're right, I stand corrected. I'll shut up now....

No, I really appreciate your advice, it was an easy mistake to make.

sorry Len,
No advice, but would you please post when you return and let us/me know how the trip went, and how your mom did being back "home"!!!

Len Feb 20th, 2001 10:18 AM

If it's as wonderful as you all say, I may not come back!

nancy Feb 20th, 2001 10:24 AM

Well, then either post us from there, or have your mom post. :)
And if you do not come back, we will see you in June!

I look forward to it. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. As a neophyte to these Rome and Amalfi excursions I realize my neuroses rang loud on this site. But as I become more seasoned hopefully I will be able to give just as much info back. Thanks again.
