Hotel (or smaller) in Alta Badia

I have taken the advice of many of you and tried to make reservations at Garni Delta. They are booked for my dates - June 27 to July 1. Does anyone have advise on another place to stay? I am looking for a smallish place in Alta Badia (small hotel, garni, pension) with, perhaps, some character and great views.

Thanks very much,
Laurie Donnay

Hi Laurie - Paul (- one of our regular 'Dolomites' posters) has previously recommended this place in Alta Badia (- La Villa):

www.montanara.it

Were you particularly looking to stay in Colfosco? If you don't get a personal recommendation here I suggest you check the Tourist Office website:

Hope this helps ...

Thanks for your help! I've emailed Montanara several times and haven't gotten a response, so was looking for something else.

I'll try the tourist link you gave me.

Maybe a little more adivce? My little group is staying at the Uhrerhof for four nights and then we will move on to another hiking spot. I was thinking Alta Badia so that we see a couple different areas. Do you have any recommendations? I know you like Ortesei, but for me, the smaller the better and I think we will take hikes in Val Gardena the four days we are there.

Thanks so much.
Laurie

Colfosco or San Cassiano would be a nice base for Alta Badia, I think.

Hiking options? I can't speak from experience there, but I'm sure you can find some good ones in Alta Badia - or over the pass in the Cortina area.

I don't know if these links might be useful:
