Hotel Neptun - St. Petersburg

I will be staying at this hotel in September. Can anyone tell me the nearest metro stop to the hotel?

What's the quickest way to get from the hotel to Palace Square by metro? The map I have doesn't show the hotel's street.

Appreciate the help.

Bob

The nearest metro station, 'Pushkinskaya', is 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Try this link for a bit more information.

http://www.monomax.org/dmc/hotel.php?h=10

And then it's a good 20 minute walk from Chernyshevskya or Gostiny Dvor metro to Palace Square. The hotel really doesn't have a convenient location for sightseeing.

Dear Marc,

Thank you for this inforamtion.

I'm beginning to realize that this hotel is not the most conveniently situated hotel to see St. Pete. Unfortunately, I'm committed to it at this time.

The map I have does not show the location of the Neptun. It is just below the lower part of the map. I do see a metro map included here though and it looks like there is another metro station that might be useful. I'm wondering if you could comment on it.

It is "Tehnologichesky institut". Do you know how far it is from Hotel Neptun? It looks as if I can get to this metro within 15 minutes or so, it would bring me to the metro stop at Nevsky a little closer than the other.

Any thoughts? I may wind up walking to Palace Square!!

Thx for the tips.

Bob

Pushkinskaya is definately closer. Frankly, most of the sites people want to see are in the historic center of Petersburg and that is not as well served by the Metro as, say, Moscow.

You'll quickly learn when it is best to walk or take a Metro or a car. Unless you can at least read cyrillic I would not recommend taking the trams or buses.
