hotel near barajas (oops)

What a great forum! I'm hoping someone can suggest a hotel near Barajas Airport. We will be in Madrid for 2 nights before an 8:30am flight home.

Sorry I don't have a hotel recommendation for you, but have you checked www.madridman.com already? I found my Madrid hostal based on recommendations on that site. I'm sure the people there might be able to help you out if no one here responds with a recommendation. Good luck!

Do you really need to stay near the airport?
You'll have a lot more hotel options staying in the city, and it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the airport.

I stayed at the Tryp Diana for 90 Euros per night. Its a nice 4 star hotel and has a free shuttle to and from the airport.

I stayed at the Best Western Villa de Barajas last September. It's a clean 3* hotel only one mile from the airport. The rooms are small but for an overnight, it's fine. Shuttle service is provided.

I agree with Marcy. It's a very short trip from the center of madrid to the airport.

Thanks for the info. The Tryp Diana has a great deal through Bancotel, only 50 Euros per night. I think I'll try it. With an 8:30am flight, I'm guessing will need to be at the airport by 7am. The extra 20 minutes of sleep will be nice.
