Hotel near Athens airport
 

We will be staying briefly one night in Athens after returning from the islands until an early morning flight to Paris. Seeking recommendation for an inexpensive hotel (not as expensive as Sofitel) near the airport. We're just sleeping!

Peris hotel ... they will pick you up at the airport .... about 15 minutes away ... inexpensive (40-50€).. if you do not have to leave the hotel untilafter 7 am, I think they will shuttle you back. Continental breakfast.

Looks like a nice place but we would need to be at the airport by 6:45 and the shuttle there does not leave until 7:00. Any other suggestions?

Both Peris Hotel and the St. Thomas B&B are closest but your early departure means a taxi which they will arrange for you, but the early departure means double the day rate. The only other option out there is the Attica Avenue Holiday Inn, which does have an early shuttle (20 minutes). You can also stay in Central Athens near Syntagma Square and take the Airport Express Bus X96 and in 45 minutes you'll be at the airport. It leaves from alongside Syntagma every 20-30 minutes 24/7/365 for €3.2

Babycoach it's 6 of one, and half-a-dozen of the other. The Peris hotel taxi back to the airpot will probably cost y ou 20-25€ early am. BUT -- you can get a room there, for about 40€ I think. In the Syntagma Square vicinity u can get the bus cheaply -- BUT a decent hotel room will cost you at least 80€ in May or June and more later.

Oh, that's right, you never told us when you will be there. It does matter, in terms of price, which is your concern.

To be specific, we are talking about the night of May 4. Peris room is 80 euro.

Boy! Their prices have zoomed! I guess we have been recommending them too much! Well, babycoach, I'm all out of cheap solutions; it's your call.
