Thank you all for taking the time to respond and to offer suggestions.
We actually live in Dubai, and we've decided to fly Dubai to Athens for a few days, and then on to Paris for a few more days.
All plans have now been finalised - flights and hotels booked (we went with the du Cadran in Paris)...and we're good to go, counting down the days!!!
We're extremely excited about our trip - my husband hasn't taken a real vacation in YEARS (workaholic that he is)...and it's also going to serve as our honeymoon (finally...2 years later!!).
Your suggestions and advice have been invaluable to us. Thanks again.
