Hotel Muguet

Is anyone familiar with the Hotel Muguet in Paris in the 7th? Would appreciate knowing that someone has seen it. It sounds good on line, but...

Many are familiar with this popular hotel. Do a "search" above for many comments.

Thanks...very helpful.

Actually, kk, xxx's post IS very helpful. The Muguet is a Fodorite favorite in Paris and there are a zillion previous posts here about the hotel.

In case you don't know how to do a search, just look toward the top of your page and type <Muguet> (leave off the <>) into the text search box. Go over to the right and highlight France and press then Find. LOTS of info should come up from the archives.

Hotel Muguet is a lovely little hotel; very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Our room had a safe, twin beds, TV, bathroom with shower. Breakfast is available as well. The location is great; near the rue Cler with all its food shops and restaurants, 5 min walk to the Metro Ecole Militaire, 10 min to the Eiffel Tower. The street is very quiet, not lots of traffic.

Great advice and reviews! Any restaurants you are love as well? Also what do you think about going out to Chantilly?

It is a fine hotel--not fancy, but nice. I tried to get in for this April and couldn'tget a room with an Eiffel Tower view like the last time, so I'm renting an apartment in the 5th instead.

The location for the Muguet is great...it's quiet, convenient for metro and to Rue Cler. Lots of restaurants and grocery store, bakeries, etc. in the area.

Fortunately, I will be staying near another "pedestrian" street with an open air market. Once you've had that experience, you want it again.

The bathrooms I found to be very large, although the opening for the shower was narrow.

As a woman, I appreciate room to move around in the bathroom, dryer and a safe in the room + cleanliness.

Staff was very helpful, and I didn't eat breakfast there as I could go down Rue Cler, buy my pastries then go elsewhere for my morning drink.

Enjoy!

kk, a friend of mine was just today raving about Chantilly! It was one of the highlights of her year's stay in Paris when she was in school.

Mary, Thanks for the input on chantilly...sounds worth pursuing.

My recommended restaurant near the Muguet would be Le Maupertu, at 94 Boulevard de La Tour-Maubourg, opposite les Invalides. Not open weekends.

For restaurants look for the post near this by now for "restaurants in the 6th and 7th". MANY recommendations near the Muguet. The very best is just around the corner--Le Florimond, 19 av. Lamotte Picquet. Make a reservation. It is superb.

You're welcome, wren. My friend is from Spain and lives in the U.S. now - she was absolutely enchanted by it. I should probably talk to her on Monday and see what she specifically recommends.
