Hotel Millesime - Paris
 

Has anyone been to this left bank hotel or know anything about it? thanks.

The Millesime is on rue Jacob, which is in a great area. There are a number of good, fairly reasonably priced hotels in that area, including the Millesime. We haven't stayed there, but friends have, and they say it is quite comfortable — bearing in mind that it is not a luxury hotel. We have stayed a few doors away at both des Marronniers (in July) and les Deux Continents (last year), which are similar in facilities. You didn't ask about restaurants, but there are lots of good ones very close.

Thanks for the info. Since you seem familiar with the area, got any good restaurant ideas? Somewhere either romantic or fun for our wedding anniversary is preferable. thanks

This response will just scratch the surface about restaurants near Hotel Millesime. Rue Saint Benoit, which is a block or so from the Millesime, has a number of good restaurants, reasonably priced. We ate a couple of times at La Brasserie Saint Benoit and at a couple of others on the same street whose names I don't recall. Le Petit Zinc is on the street and is supposed to be good, but we don't have first-hand information. The salmon is especially good at l'Echaude Saint Germain at 21, rue de l'Echaude, also nearby. We ate outdoors every meal in July, and I don't know how the weather will be when you go, but if it's fit and you'll walk (or ride) a little farther, one of our best meals was at Restaurant Abelard, across the Seine from the Notre Dame off Quai Montebello at 1, rue des Grandes-Degres. I mention the weather because it was quite romantic outside, but I can't say abou t inside. Closer to your hotel, there's Le Procope, reputed to be the oldest restaurant in Paris; it's sort of fun. If you want to splurge, say about $100 per person including wine, you might go across the Seine to Laurent. Outstanding — and expensive and hard to get in.

Has anyone stayed in this hotel recently? The on-going promotion seems to be quite a good deal. Has the hotel been refurbished lately?
The internet photos of the rooms don't show much of the bathrooms. What are they like?

Hi rockhill--- perhaps someone here has stayed there more recently but I did find this thread from last spring. Seems like a good pick.

We stayed 3 nights in April 2005. It was my first trip to Paris so of course I was shocked at how small the room was. I'm sure it was typical. The bathroom however was a lovely all white marble. The location couldn't be beat. The staff even called Air France to check on our 18 hour luggage delay. When we came back from a long morning walk, the bags were in our room.
