Thanks, Corilow, for the update. We have booked a Blvd room at the Madison for 4 nights in March. It is always nice to get positive feedback. Oh, I can't wait!!!!!

Corilow, glad you enjoyed staying at the Madison. We enjoyed our stay there in July and would definitely go back there on our next visit to Paris. Just curious - was the fireplace in the room to the right of the front desk?

Hi Marianna,

The fireplace was actually in the breakfast room area, just next to the bar. I would never have noticed it, but for the one night when it was lit. Very cozy on a cold evening.
AGM Cape Cod- You'll enjoy the hotel a great deal. BTW, did you get a big snow fall in Cape Cod??

Marianna Jan 24th, 2005 10:56 AM

Thanks, Corilow. I recall seeing it now but I think they had a decorative panel in front of it since it was July and there was no need to light it.

And yes, to answer your question to AGM, the Cape was hard hit with high winds, a lot of snow, and coastal flooding. I measured about 3 feet of snow in my area which is about 25 miles north of Boston, but I think the Cape got more than that. Ah, the joys of a New England winter!

glad the madison lived up to expectations. we've not seen the electric shutters or the fireplace; good to know about. so far our favorite room is no. 23--i think all the corner rooms are anout the same.

Wow, Marianna, three feet of snow. Hope you are all "dug" out now.

Underhill, we stayed in room 74, overlooking the blvd. I don't know if all rooms have electronic shutters, but ours had a switch next to the window to activate them up and down. We really only used them one night for the fun of it. It was not really necessary!!
