We will be in Paris over the New Year for 6 nights and looking for a recently renovated charming hotel in the 6th- close to a metro ,
easy walk to restaurants and roomy enough for lots of luggage (we are going skiing afterwards). We are 2 adults and 2 teenagers(19 & 15). Do any of the above fit the bill ?
We are looking around the 1000ff per room range.

I have not stayed in those hotels, but if you do a Search here on each one I believe you will find past comments.
Also look for comments at www.paris.org
I wold be surprised if the Conti or St Sulpice had rooms that could easily accommodate "lots" of luggage; you might have a better chance for somewhat larger rooms at the Madison, but I would definitely inquire at each one in advance before deciding. Perhaps they have a luggage room for storage.

The website www.france.com has a pretty good Paris hotel guide, including pictures and reviews. They're also pretty quick about getting back to you with booking information and there's no charge for their service.

I agree that both Prince de Conti and Relais St. Sulpice are very small -- many of the reviews say as much. One of my friends swears by the Hotel St. Germain des Pres (I think it's on rue Boneparte) and she's pretty fussy about closet space, etc.

Last year we stayed in the 1ere arrodisement, just over the Pont Neuf and across from the Louvre. It was a great location. We stayed at Relais du Louvre, and next door was Hotel de la Place du Louvre, which I think has some "duplex" rooms where there's a loft. Both are reasonably priced. Our breakfast, served on a tray, was 50ffs per person and had the most amazingly delicious rolls, pastries, jam, honey, fresh orange juice and steaming coffee. I'd go back in a heartbeat (if only there werne't so many other places I want to go!)

I have looked at The Madison and it seems very nice, and they do advertise that they have larger than usual rooms. I agree with the comment about luggage rooms. Our thing is if we are going to be anywhere three nights or longer, we like to totally unpack what we need -- (assuming there is drawer, closet, or amoire space)-- and storing our suitcases with things we don't need in the hotel luggage room. All hotels seem to have them. It is just so much nicer not to be tripping over suitcases and living out of them.

Just returned from Paris and stayed at the Bel Ami on St. Benoit in the 6th. Used to be the Alliance. All new fixtures, very modern and 4 star. We loved the location, close to everything. Would be good with kids, has free internet access with free breakfast. Have Fun!

Thanks for the replies. Any comments on the Hotel de Abbaye in Rue Cassette?The luggage room sounds a great idea for skis & ski boots etc. For location and service-- which hotel. Is the Madison noisy as it is right on boulevard St Germain?
