Hotel Lutece in Paris
Hi,
I have reservations for this hotel in April (based on all your recommendations - thank you!). This might sound dumb, but what is the correct pronunciation? Also, for anyone who has stayed here....do the hairdryers work well or are they like so many hotel ones that barely squeak out air? |
I barely remember the hairdryers but I do have long hair and managed to get it dry :)
It is pronounced Loo tess. It is a lovely hotel and that is a great time of year to go..Lucky you! |
Ask to see your room before you accept it; I've heard several people complain that they ended up in an oversized closet. Most hotels that have wall-mounted hairdryers use the small, rectangular kind that can get very hot in your hand very fast; I've learned to take a little potholder to use for holding the unit.

Re. Lutece, we loved it. Our room was a bit close but adequate, comfy bed, and the bathroom was fabulous....all marble, large, deep tub, big window. Desk was very helpful and the location really ideal. I'd definitely stay there again. Sister hotel on island is nice, too.

MAP- that bathtub was huge wasn't it?? It seemed as though the bathroom might have been larger than the room.
We were on the 5th floor, overlooking rue St-Louis en Ille. you know-if the breakfast room is full, they will bring breakfast to your room for no charge ~ |
We didn't have a huge bathtub, although the bathroom seemed newly redone. OTOH our room was not as small as I had expected. Loved the hotel and the location, and the breakfast croissants were delicious.

Bonjour Marilyn ((F))

Bonjour, Scarlett! Comment allez-vous aujourdhui? Je vais à la "gym" maintenant. Et vous?

Lolling, darlin, just lolling~

Yes, the bathrooms were exceptional. We had a very nice breakfast...omelet, fabulous hot chocolate...real, melted chocolate in its own pot....view of Notre Dame....Le Flore en Ille just down the block from Lutece and sister hotel, Des Deux Iles.
