The Poseidon has great views from many of its rooms. Just make sure that you ask for a room in at least a superior category, as some of the doubles can be small. We were lucky have to have a jr. suite there with a terrace overlooking all of Positano. The views were spectacular, and the hotel, which is small and family run, could not have been better.

Have a great time!

Romantic with great views has to be the Santa Caterina just up the road from Amalfi. Has its own pool right on the rocks by the Med and you have a totally private swimming area in the Med as well, as there is nothing else for miles either side. (Not true of Positano.) The hotel is spread out over the cliffs above the sea and is filled with bougenvilla and lemon groves....quiet and peaceful. Food is superb. Can't say enough good things about this hotel.

I like to see Postitano from the water, and its a nice place to shop, but I wouldn't want to stay there....

I was in the Amalfi Coast, Capri, etc in April and we stayed in a gorgeous hotel in Positano.....Villa Gabrisa(http://www.villagabrisa.com/). It is a bit of a walk from the beach but the price is great and the views are amazing. The woman who runs the place speaks perfect English and they bring breakfast every morning to your room.

We LOVED staying in Positano and will do it again in a minute. While we didn't stay there, a lot of people rave about L'Ancora and especially the suite with a jacuzzi on the terrace. I believe it is right next to La Sirenuse.
