This hotel, along with Hotel Cambon, is our favorite in this part of the 1st. The rooms on the street are large with high ceilings; good soundproofing. Prices often discounted substantially.

Thank you DJK; Oak: I read that the room should be located in the newer part of the hotel as well as facing the courtyard. Your opinion please.

It used to be my home away from home in Paris - I've stayed there many time but not in the past three years since they went through major renos. I loved the hotel. All the bathrooms had been completely renovated (large marble rooms, beautifully done)and all the rooms I stayed in were very large - I loved the ones on the Rue Castiglione. Decor was traditional with fabric covered walls and antique-style furniture. Service was top notch and the room service food quite good as they have an excellent restuarant. I've always prefered the 1st arr.
The only reason I haven't stayed there since is that the rates have always been extremely high every time I have visited Paris since. Highly recommended. |
The room that we had at the Lotti had a lovely bathroom, but the bedroom was quite small--and there was nothing in which to put things from the suitcase except a wardrobe: no drawers at all. That was a real inconvenience, as we were staying for several days and didn't want to live out of our suitcase, especially given the limited space.
