Hotel Londres Eiffel or Hotel Duquense in Paris?

Has anyone stayed at either the Hotel Londres Eiffel or Hotel Duquense and what was your opinion on location to metro stations, cleanliness, attitude of the staff, etc? I'm having a hard time deciding...they both have available rooms at the same price and the reviews I read are very similiar. I thought someone might have had a "memorable" stay (good or bad) to help me make a decision.

I've been staying at the Hotel Duquesne for more than 20 years. I love the location, the staff, everything about it. Except that now it's a bit more than I care to pay, so when I don't need AC I stay at the nearby Hotel de France.

I have stayed at Hotel Londres Eiffel twice and I would definitely stay there again. I love the area, it is convenient to cafes, patisseries and a short walk to both the Eiffel Tower and the Ecole Militaire metro stop.

I remember my first night in Paris, the day of the bombings in London, I looked out my window and saw the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower - "this is why I already love Europe" was my first thought, "this is why I travel".

The hotel staff is so welcoming and helpful, there is a small elevator (almost a luxury in small hotels in Europe) and you can choose to either have croissants, breads and coffee for breakfast in the small breakfast area or go out to the cafes nearby.

There are also grocery stores, food shops and restaurants within a 15 minute walk. There is a flower shop and a laundry on the same street, as well as a bank with an ATM. It is in a quiet area, yet I felt very safe walking alone at night.

Don't hesitate if you are being offered Room 41 or 42 at The Hotel Duquesne (one of them is on a corner) but both have nice views of the Eiffel Tower.
The hotel has extremely profesional and very pleasant staff manning the front desk. Also the breakfast included scrambled eggs and bacon every morning!

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Londres Eiffel in May 2005 with Rick Steves tour group. I have very nice memories of the place. The people were very nice there.

I stayed at the Hotel Duquesne my first trip to Paris. Very clean, and close to the metro. I would stay there again.
