Hotel Le Regent rate reduction, Paris 6th district
This hotel is a favorite of some here. I remembered someone posted about getting a huge rate discount due to the elevator being out of service.
Well, I was browsing on www.france-hotel-guide.com and came across the hotel's website. They are giving a 40% reduction according to this statement: "The lift will be out of order from 28th November 2005 to 27th January 2006 because of improvement and setting in conformity. A reduction of -40% will be accorded on the price of the room during this period. Everything will be organised to make your trip as nice as possible, effectively, the work will be "hidden" and we assure the carrying of your luggage." I better book a room :) |
Hi f,
That's good to know. Thanks. |
I know you love Hotel Bonaparte, Ira, but maybe Le Regent's offer will tempt you to stay there instead. No breakfast is included in the rates though.
|
Wow, that's a great opportunity to stay at a very nice 3 star for 2 star prices; wonder if would qualify as a reason to plan to trip to Paris at that time? :-)
(As though we really need "good reasons"!) Thank you for informing us! |
Grandmere, you are welcomd and I hope you can take advantage of this fantastic rate. I wish I could!! For Paris you don't need any reason to visit; it's great at any time of year :)

Hi f,
>..maybe Le Regent's offer will tempt you to stay there instead.< Not as long as Mme Ducas still runs the Bonaparte. ((I)) |
I should have known that, Ira; you are Mme.'s #1 guest! :)
|
Ira, when we stayed at the Bonaparte last month(thanks to your glowing reviews!), it seemed to be run by the son of the family. He's 30-ish, and said that his mother (and the cat, which he acknowledged was "bad")had moved to St. Remy. He's now in charge, as I understood it. Very nice fellow, and we were very happy with the Bonaparte. More later, if I ever get a little report written.

Le Regent is one of our favorites in that price range in that arrondisement. Many of our friends tend to book there as well.
I would say that the staircase starting on the ground floor is a bit narrow and winding for toting luggage, however. I have carried luggage up them myself because we were on a world-wind tour with tons of luggage that would have taken forever to move up in what is a fairly small elevator. So, hopefully, they will be attend to those who might need a porter. The owner and the staff are very pleasant and the front and lobby area are especially pretty at Christmas. |
Hi francofile.
I think I am the lucky poster you refer to who got this fabulous discount (a 200e deluxe room for 120e). I came across it a few months ago while looking for a hotel for my upcoming August trip. At that time, the hotel expected to do its renovations in August. They have since changed their renovation plans, but have agreed to honor the discount. This rate, in addition to a $580 LAX-CDG roundtrip airfare, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! I'M GOING TO PARIS!!! |
Iregeo, yes indeed, you are that lucky person I referred to! :) Gosh, how lucky you are with that airfare too! I am sure you will enjoy your visit very much.
