Hotel le Madison or St Jacques?
 

We're trying to decide between hotel Le Madison or St Jacques. Which one would you recommend?

I don't know which St Jacques you're asking about, one is on rue d'ecoles the other further back in the 5th nr Lux. gardens. But the location of Le Madison is super. Right across from the metro and famous cafes, on many bus routes. I have afriend that stays there several times a year and won't stay anywhere else. I saw her room the last time I was there at the same time and it was lovely. She said the breakfasts are excellent if included in your rate.

Just close your eyes and pick one. How much difference can it make, really?

The price difference is very large. Does that mean anything to you? If it meant nothing to me, I think I'd choose Le Madison, but that's never the case for me.

Schnookies, these are two very different hotels - - if you're expecting "le Madison" amenities at "St Jacques" you're going to be disappointed.

That's what I was going to say, these are two very different level hotels, and the price must reflect that. I know Madison's prices are very high for a 3* hotel, more like a 4*, and that is partly due to the location, but St Jacques isn't in that league (and is only a 2* hotel, also). If you are talking about the one on rue des Ecoles.

Are you talking about the Madison in the 6th? If so, then the location is excellent. That's my regular neighborhood. Happy Travels!

As for the St. Jacques...is that the one in the 5th and where Charades was filmed...I think? If it's a choice between the two, then I'd pick the Madison. Happy Travels!
