Hotel Langlois: reccomended by friends

Has anyone stayed there? What is it close to. Any restaurant recommendations.

no, I haven't stayed there but I know it is close to Gare St. Lazare. How close a restaurant do you want?

cigalechanta Sep 26th, 2004 07:20 PM

knob, I don't know of any reataurants but it's in the 9th and the trivia about this hotel is that it was the
Hotel Des Croises but after they filmed the remake of "Charade" (Somethung about Harry) they changed the name to Hotel Langlois.

We are staying there for 4 nights in just 2 weeks so can let you know what we find (unless you are going to be there sooner than we are). It was selected as a Fodor's choice hotel this year.

We stayed at the Langlois in early September and it served our needs quite well but we were only there for one night before going on to Normandy. It is a quaint hotel and we ended up in a suite which was a bargain because we had reserved a standard double @ 116 Euro incl tax and breakfast for 2. It received great reviews which we think were better than it deserved. Room was o.k but hotel desk clerks were not helpful, e.g. check in, directions, etc. There aren't a lot of restaurants close to the hotel but it is close to the metro. I felt quite safe in the area which seemed to full of young working class people. If I were going to spend more time in Paris I'm not sure I'd stay there.

We have stayed there and absolutely loved it. I'm very picky about where I stay. It's a very romantic hotel. It reminds me of an Audrey Hepburn movie. The people at the desk are very warm and inviting. They're very accomodating. It has an elevator and an elegant staircase. I wouldn't think twice about staying there again. We loved it. There are a couple of nice restaurants that we passed just a couple of blocks away on the way to the Opera. There are department stores and metros with in a couple of blocks. There is a boulangerie (I'm sure the spelling is incorrect) right down the street.
