Does anyone know if this hotel has a web site. I'm now trying to decide between Hotel Laimer, Hotel Uhland and Der Englischer Garden. They all look great and have slightly different amentities.

Hotel Uhland has free parking. At Der Englischer Garden you pay for parking and breakfast.

Any other B&B type places out there that I may be missing?

I haven't been able to find the web site, although we have reservations there this summer. It got great reviews on this site and on Trip Advisor. I reserved through Expedia, which had a pretty good description.

loves2sing - My husband and I are going in mid-July. We are planning to visit Munich, Nuremberg, and the Alps, staying around Hohenschwangau. How funny - we are all just missing each other by 5-10 days. Good that we are all on this site - we can share info.

loves2sing and J_Correa, yes, I think we are planning similar trips .. at least a few places .. I"ve seen both your screen names on many of the posts I've been reading. Our trip is 7/28-8/11. Although, I think the two of you have a better grasp of your intinerary. Mine is just crazy .. I'll never get it finalized I'm all over the map.

Mercedes, thank you for the site. I did find it on expedia and trip advisor .. and even went to book our 2 nights in Munich .. but it was sold out.

So I'm not looking at the Hotel Uhland or Der Englisch Garten.

J_Correa and Loves2Sing - have either of you been overly concerned with air conditioning in the hotels you are stayin in? I'm curious as to how warm it gets in Germany during the summer. I've read diff. posts saying it's been extremely hot one summer but ok the next.

A couple of the hotels I am looking at don't have air. I guess I'll live. I did for 18 years in my parent's house.

I am not concerned about the lack of AC. We don't have it at home and do just fine. The average high in Munich in July is only 74F. The average high at home in July is 85F. I don't really start to feel overly warm until the temperatures are pushing triple digits.

I am actually kind of happy to find AC to be scarce because I don't really care for it. Unless it is REALLY hot, it is easier for me to adjust to the heat rather than keep having to adjust to significantly different indoor and outdoor temperatures.

I booked Le Meridien for our time in Munich. I used hotels.de and got a farely good rate of 135 euro with breakfast. It has AC and after our experience last summer in Paris, when it got very warm...actually HOT, we wanted a place that we could be comfortable at night. Definitely not B & B, which is what we usually lean toward. The places you are looking into sound nice as well.

I haven't paid too much attention to whether or not the hotels have a/c but I have noticed some I have booked so far do. I do still have about four more hotels to decide on. I live in So. Cal. and while I don't love being overly hot, I am somewhat used to it (but I do run the a/c a lot!). I am usually pretty comfortable up to about 85-90 as long as its not humid, which its not usually in So. Cal, otherwise I need to be near the water! I have read where it can be humid some years in Germany but I'm hoping this one won't be. I have lived in Florida, been to Texas, Jamaica and the Bahamas and have endured the humidity when necessary (being on vacation helps my demeanor considerably). I just don't plan on curling my hair, ha. My husband and I also went to France and Italy in June a few years ago and the weather was wonderful! If all else fails and it is hot, guess I'll be trying some beer or some white wine. (I'm the red wine drinker in the family...as I type..."sipping from glass".)
