I walked up their driveway to check them out and it seemed like a nice family run hotel. It is on the mountain side of the road and above Onda Verde Hotel.
It has nice views and the manager was pleasant when I asked for a brochure.

Thanks SeaUrchin! I'm debating whether to stay in my budget with La Perla or splurge on Casa Albertina in Positano. It will be my first 2 nights of the trip and I'm thinking I'd like to make Positano my splurge.

However, it's also looking like 1 night on Capri will also require $$$$$. Any suggestions?

Grazie!

Hi Dayle, I just looked up Casa Albertina and it looks really nice doesn't it? I would choose it, but then again I love Positano and would splurge for two nights. There are alot of less expensive hotels in Capri, I don't know them offhand but do a Fodors search and you will come up with some.

La Perla looks fine, but I'm with you on Casa Albertina.

I stayed at La Perla several years ago and had a room with view of sea and the owner was really wonderful. We had a car but I believe the bus stop was close to hotel. When we woke up a rooster crowing. We ate at hotel and enjoyed the meal but it is not right on the water. I would stay there again. If you are looking for nightlife I would stay somehere else. It has a beautiful balcony for breakfast of wonderful pastry and coffee. Have fun.

Hi Zo,

Thanks so much for your comment. I've been to and stayed in Praiano before and know it's quiet. OK with me, I usually crash early. But I'm thinking this time I would like to stay in and see Positano. Didn't go there before and want to be near to the dock for the ferry to Capri.

Grazie!
