Hotel Keti and others in Santorini

My wife and I are looking for a suitable hotel in Santorini with a caldera view for a visit during 19-20 June 2007. That is we spend one night and two days. Has anyone stayed at Hotel Keti? Or the Blue Dolphins? Any recommendations? We are also concerned about the climb to these hotels. Our budget is 70-80 euros per night for a double room or studio for two. Regards

Indytravel posted a trip report that included Hotel Keti. Here's the link to his report. Scroll down until you get to his hotel list.

I also stayed at Hotel Keti in 2004. From "ground level" where the shops are located, you would need to climb some flights of (flat) stairs before reaching the hotel. 5 mins or so. At the hotel, our rooms were located further down below and here, there are 1 or 2 short flights of rather steep stairs. Easily negotiable for the able but may need some care for the less able.

The room we had was fairly simple - just beds, bar fridge, table and chairs - and the bathroom very small. 2 or 3 rooms share a balcony/patio which our room door opened to...the view from here is gorgeous indeed. We really didn't have to go anywhere else for sunset views over the caldera.

The hotel has no restaurant, no lobby (just a small reception area), no pool etc.

All in all, this was one of the cheapest hotels we could find with the perfect view. And the location was good too..easily accessible to all the shops and restaurants in Fira and also near the main bus terminal (where we took a bus to Oia and to the ferry terminal).

I meant to say, from the "ground level", you would need to climb some flight of flat stairs DOWN to the hotel.

The hotel is not visible from the "ground level", rather, there was a sign pointing downwards, if I remembered correctly.

Thank you very much JannaG. That's a pretty accurate description of what to expect and is very helpful.Regards
