Hotel Jeanne D'Arc
We have a reservation at the Hotel Jeanne D'Arc in Le Marais in Feb. Do their rooms have their own shower or tub. Also they say they have no nonsmoking rooms... if anyone has stayed their are the rooms really smoky? I am sure in Paris most rooms smoking optional. Any other info about this hotel would be great, Clean, friendly, room info
Thanks Ali |
You should probably ask the hotel which kind of room you have. Hotels often have a mixture of either shower or bath. Or are you asking if all the rooms include a private bathroom/toilet, rather than shared..?

I know that the room has a bathroom but am not sure if it includes a shower/tub.

The room we had there was not smoky. The bathroom had a tub. I can't remember if there was a handheld shower on it, but possibly there was. But it wasn't really a stand-up type shower. No shower curtain as I remember.

Did the hotel say you have a 'salle de bain' which is a bathroom - with a bath. Oddly enough in France, a bathroom is supposed to have a bath.
If not, it will be a salle de douche or salle d'eau, and will have a shower. Probably easier to ask the hotel |
each bathroom has a tub or shower you chose. Any other info about the area the hotel is in would be great

We stayed there in September, excellent (and safe) location, easy walk to St. Paul Metro stop, the Seine, Place de Vosges, and there are several restaurants right around the corner in St Catherine Place. Internet cafes were close and there are several places to have breakfast close by if you choose not to eat at the hotel. We went out each morning but the hotel's breakfast room looked pleasant, and some had their trays delivered to their rooms. Our room was on the top floor, we had a nice view of the rooftops of Paris (not amazing, but better than the air shaft/dumpster view we usually get at a hotel). Our room was very clean, did not smell of smoke, had a very small but adequate bath with a shower with a shower curtain. Bed was comfy, there was a small desk, good size window, 2 small built in cupboards to store our things, TV, 2 night stands. Lighting was good. Friendly, helpful staff. We will stay there again when we return to Paris.

I just stayed there over Thanksgiving. My room faced the street, not the courtyard and was on a corner, with two huge windows...so very bright. The bathroom was large, with a large shower stall -- but no tub. Location is wonderful...my room did not smell like smoke at all. Recommended...

Margo & Kit thanks for the info!! For many years we stayed at the Hotel Mayfair in the 1st. Last year we paid 220 euro and when I called for reservations this year, the best that Madame could do was 370 euro...WOW a 68% jump. Time for a change....so off to the 3rd we go!!! |
