Hotel Intercontinental Athens

Has anyone stayed at the Intercontinental in Athens in the last 2 years? We haven't stayed at this hotel in over 8 years and were wondering if it is still nice. We don't want worn and faded.

Cheers,
Thin

TG - Tripgirl's report might have some hotels you would be interested in for your Greek tour.

Can't wait to read about Muffy's adventures in the islands.

We haven't stayed at this hotel but if you are thinking of reserving, you might want to try bidding on Priceline. We recently bid for a 5-star hotel in May and received the Hotel Intercontinental Athens for 100E a night. During the off season, winning bids were quite a bit less, according to biddingfortravel.com. Hope this helps.

I just saw your question re Intercontinental. When are you going to Greece. My husband and I plan to go the end 2007 and were thinking of staying there because the one in Paris was so wonderful. Can you please report back how it was? Thanks and have a lovely trip?

We will be in Athens in July, 2007. I will probably write one of my famous trip reports.

Priceline? I have no idea what that is.

To learn how to use priceline, go to www.priceline.com. In the left-hand corner there is a link called "New to Priceline?" There you will find instructions on how to use the site. Be sure you get in the section "name your own price." Before you bid, go to www.biddingfortravel.com and see what have been recent winning bids so you know what has a decent chance of being accepted. Priceline is confusing to use initially, but once you get the hang of it, it can be a good resource. It's saved us a bundle on hotels. Not good for airfares, though.
