Hotel in Vienna and Salzburg

Hi I'm a solo traveller. I'll be visiting Vienna and Salzburg end of April.
I'm looking for a nice hotel with budget of less than €120. I'll be walking so I prefer hotels near attractions.

And also rooms with free wifi

Thanks

It would be helpful if you provided more detail, such as your travel dates. Hotel room rates vary depending on the date of your stay.

I checked out a couple of dates in June for a single room in this hotel and it was around your budget.

You might start out by looking at a booking site such as Booking.com to get an idea of quality and prices.

Enjoy your planning!

Try this site, as it looks at booking, expedia, hotels and others and shows the best price.

I have stayed at the K + K Palais Hotel in Vienna. its in the first district on a quiet street and you can walk to all of your sites within the city.. breakfast is included and wifi is free. I found it was just as cheap to book on the hotel's website. I was able to take the airport bus into the city and then walk a few blocks to the hotel.

check dates for availability and prices at any hotel. but stay in the first district.

It cost about €150 a night. Slightly pricey but nice hotel

We loved, loved the Hotel Altstadt in the Spittleburg area of downtown Vienna. We walked everywhere from there - the museum quarter is about 5 blocks away. It’s a small boutique hotel. http://www.altstadt.at/en/

The price for a single room for three nights beginning April 23 is $139.00 - only one left, though. It includes an amazing breakfast and WIFI. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the lounge, where we relaxed and chatted with people from around the world. They offer light meals at night, too. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

If you’re starting in Salzburg, I can also recommend the Hotel Salzburg Auersperg. http://www.auersperg.at/en/

It’s across the river from the Old Town, another small boutique hotel with a great breakfast and nice rooms. They’re open April 23,24,25, and 29 but not 26, 27, 29.

Ahh, just saw your other post with your itinerary. Oh well, the Salzburg hotel won’t work. Sorry!

Hi Iwango

I check the hotel you recommended in Salzburg. It seems that according to booking.com the rooms are not available from 26th -29th April but from hotels.com its available. Is it usual for some sites to be available and some sites not??

Yes.

I actually looked on the hotel’s website, and it showed it as booked - they must have one left on the booking.com website.

BTW, I really loved the Sound of Music tour - just seeing all the countryside! It’s so beautiful! We also had a great meal at a small Croatian restaurant called Istra Enotek ( at Wolf-Dietrich Strasse 27). The fish was amazing, cost around 61E for two including wine. VERY friendly, people talking across tables and stuff like that. From TA reviews it looks like it’s a set menu, but it was delicious - if you like fish.

You’re welcome to click on my name and read my review, in case it helps paint a picture. :)

Oh, you are going to have such a wonderful trip!!!

Hi iwan2go

Which SOM tour company did you follow??

Iwan2go Mar 12th, 2016 07:58 PM

Bobs Tours:
"The next morning we went on the requisite Sound of Music tour - http://www.bobstours.com We had the RS book with us and got a 5E discount. We had seen the movie again right before leaving and figured that this was an easy way to see areas outside of Salzburg - which it was. There were only four of us on the bus (a couple from up north, I think) and our tour guide.”
