Hotel in Venice

We will be in Venice this July for 2 nights and would like a 4 star hotel that is centrally located ,prefferably on the Grand Canal and offers breakfast..
We look forward to hearing from you.. Thank you in advance. Natjgc

If you want upscale, I think Palazzo Sant'Angelo would be my choice.

Thank you for the recommendation but that is a little too expensive. it's looks fabulous though and I'm sure wonderful...

Not on the Grand Canal but a nice 4 star is Hotel Giorgione. Well located and not outrageously priced.

What price do you hope to pay? It is difficult for us to predict what"4 star" you would consider "too expensive." Are there amenities in particular you must have?

I would recommend this hotel:

Look at Al Ponte Antico---wonderful 4 star.

We stayed at Locanda Sturion several years ago. The hotel is beautiful and the location is great. BUT if you don't like climbing stairs or if you have a lot of heavy luggage, don't stay there. There was no elevator, there was no one to help with luggage and there is a long flight of stairs up to the desk.

I can;t imagine a 4* hotel that didn't have a bellstaff OR an elevator. Ot a 3* for that matter. (If it does have a 4* rating this is just one more example of the differences between star ratings in the US and EU).

To the OP - if you would give us a $ budget people can make more specific recos.

We'll spend at the most $300.00 US dollars a night.

$300 is about €225 at this date.
