going to be in venice in october looking for a hotel in the 250 per night range, was told about the hotel :Kette Anyone know about it?

I just checked the Hotel Kette for a ramdon date in October, and prices started at 290 Euro. You may have already checked that, but at least my post will help keep you near the top.

Locanda Orseolo was absolutely fabulous.

Check out Pensione Accademia at www.pensioneaccademia.it, a lovely hotel in Dorsoduro that I can recommend complete with front and rear garden,unusual for Venice. Also on canal with view of Grand Canal.

Yes, I also heard that Locando Orseolo is wonderful but it fills in quickly, so do check asap. You might want to look into Hotel Flora, although it was Euro 230 in October of 2004. So, it is (a) more than $250 and (b) probably even more than that by now.
