Hotel in St. Germain des Pres?

We are considering staying at the Hotel de Saint-Germain at 50 rue de Four. Has anyone been there and can you comment on it?

If this is the hotel with reviews on TripAdvisor.com, it sounds okay, although one reviewer says that the rooms are small even for Paris. I'd ask the hotel to give you the size of their rooms before making a decision.

Underhill, thank you. I checked tripadvisor.com, but I couldn't find any reviews for the hotel. There are several with similar names, but not Hotel de Saint-Germain, on rue de Four, at least I couldn't find it. But, thanks anyway. I will ask about the size of the room.

Hi annie,

If you enter "Hotel de Saint-Germain" including the quotation marks in the search box, you will get several dscussions of this hotel.

Ira, I tried it, "hotel de Saint-Germain" in the search area of tripadvisor.com I didn't come up with anything. What am I doing wrong? (I'm new to this) annie

There are scores and comments on Venere.com:

Travelnut, I don't see anything about Hotel de Saint-Germain in venere.com either, but thanks.

Did you copy/past the link I posted above? It opens the exact page for all the scores that customers have given to Hotel de Saint Germain. There is a comment in a shaded area.

I have read also that the rooms are pretty small. Best thing is to ask the hotel about the room measurement. It's in a good area though and under the same ownership as Hotel de Fleurie.

I'm pretty sure I've seen comments on it somewhere -- the main sites I review are www.paris.org/Hotels and france.digital.com/Hotels

Give them a try

On the Europe Forum page is a little box labeled 'Search This Forum'. Do your search there.

annieladd Feb 22nd, 2004 05:43 PM

Ira, I've looked and looked, but I can't find a Europe Forum (or any forum) on tripadvisor.com I see the reviews from people on various hotels, but not Hotel de Saint-Germain.

I'm enjoying reading your trip to Italy, do you have one for France/Provence/Paris?

Christina Feb 22nd, 2004 06:10 PM

They don't have any reviews on tripadvisor for that hotel (the one one rue du Four) I think Ira was suggesting you do a search on HERE, on Fodors, in the search box.

annieladd Feb 23rd, 2004 12:05 PM

Christina, and Ira, thanks so much, I finally get it! I did the search as you suggested, and got the information. Thanks for helping this neophyte. I'm hooked on this site!

For Paris walks, search on "Degas" and you'll get lots of great info.
