Are you driving?
Do you have a price range?

Halfway between Pisa and Lucca stands the Hotel Villa Rinaisciamento (check spelling). It is a restored country home for nobels (a count, I think) atop a hill full of olive trees and vineyards. It has a `vanishing edge' pool with an incredible view. The kids loved it. Our family of four got a pair of connecting rooms.

Probably was around 100 euro/night per room, two years ago.

Try the hotel Piccolo Puccini in Lucca. I stayed there a few years ago with family. Very reasonable and clean. Right in the heart of Lucca.
