Hotel in Seville

The Alma Sevilla Hotel in Seville is quite a bit more expensive than the Amadeus, but they both get very good reviews. Does anyone know these hotels? Is the Alma Sevilla worth the extra money?

Our favorite is Las Casas de la Juderia hotel in the barrio. Very beautiful, with larger rooms than normal in Spain. Easy walk everywhere in town. Very colorful with big buffet breakfast. Don't know the rates today. Go to its web page. Ask for Room 10, enormous first floor room.

I upgraded to a superior at Amedeus and loved my stay. Great location, nice staff and housekeeping was first rate. Highly recommended.

Yes, we know both. The Alma Sevilla is a beautiful boutique property belonging to a small group. And yes, the price difference is well worth it.

The Amadeus was lovely, but not all the rooms are the same. We had the Junior Suite and liked it. The rooms on the bottom floor might be too close to the lounge, though.

They have a wonderful rooftop deck that we loved - spent an evening up there watching the people in adjoining houses have dinner on their own decks. Very, very nice staff and good location. I'm not familiar w the other hotel, but that's my 2 cents on the Amadeus.

Have fun!

Are the standard rooms very small at the Amadeus? The other choice is the junior suite.

I'm sorry, jag, I didn't see the other rooms. The junior suite was very large - I would guess 13-14 feet wide and 20-25 feet long. It is pictured under "junior suites" as image 5. Wow, they've redone all the rooms since we've been there and they look beautiful

The location was wonderful, close to the center of the city, and the staff was outstanding.

The Amadeus is what I would call cozy and comfortable, and the public space is nice, freshened up a bit since we were last there. It's in what was once a private home, Sevillanas style mansion. The Alma on the other hand is a renovated palace, the 5-star Palacio de Villapanés, with large luxurious rooms. They are completely different types of properties, making it difficult to compare.
