Hotel in San Sebastian
Have reservations for 3 nights end of July at the Hotel Maria Cristina though read reviews it's in dire need of updating. Any alternative air conditioned (preferably 4 or 5 star)hotels in/around San Sebastian?
|
Try the Londres.
|
Thanks. I searched the web, came up with abba de londres y de inglaterra. I called but to make a reservation for a suite, I have to call back tomorrow. Their website looks good.

Hi Mark I assume you have also read the recs from Maribel's Guides?

We have stayed at the Hotel Niza and loved it. Recommend it highly.
|
SS and air con? It is just not needed if you open windows.
|
Missed the part about AC. Don't think Niza has it (or needs it).
|
I thought the Niza was nice, but they will not guarantee a seafront room and I am not sure it would be considered a four-star hotel.
What about Villa Soro? http://www.villasoro.com/hotel_de_lu..._sebastian.htm |
Since I didn't get a seafront room at the Nizza, I wasn't all that charmed by my stay, and my husband complained about the shortness of the bed and the lack of air conditioning one night. (It can get hot in San Sebastian-Donostia, and for those who can't sleep without air conditioning, it can spoil a vacation.)
I did like the downstairs bar, however, much better than the one at the Londres -- although the historic center is really the place to go once the tapas hour sets in. The Nizza bar was just a nice place for breakfast with a view. |
Hello,
Looking for the best hotel in San Sebastian try looking here http://www.sansebastianspain.info/ |
Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra is the best http://www.hlondres.com/i-index.htm
It's a very good hotel, sited on Paseo de la Concha, in front of the sea. You ask for a room with the windows in front of the sea. The best sight to get up in the morning!!. Bye |
Keep your hotel reservations. There is a major jazz festival going on at the end of the month in San Sebastian-Donostia.
|
We did get an ocean facing room at Hotel Niza. We reserved several months in advance and requested one. But as others noted there is no guarentee. We plan on staying there again but there's other nice places too. San Sebastian is such a terrific place I think it's hard to go too far wrong.

Loock this new hotel. It´s pure luxury and very cheap:

Can't comment on the other hotels, but we stayed at the Maria Cristina last year, and loved it. Is it supposed to be run down? Didn't see that at all. Perhaps other hotels are even better. Don't know. But we can vouch for this one.
|
Maria Cristina, Londres. villa soro all are a great hotels. Iriarte Jauregia its diferent, it a rural luxury hotel.
|
I've been trying to find some information beyond their web site and a few reveiws on Iriarte Jauregia. anyone know about it?
|
<B>jherbert123:</B> This is a really old thread that was topped by Quere, possibly to advertise the Iriarte Jauregia. The OP's trip was in July of '08.
<B>Yestravel:</B> You might do better to start a fresh thread w/ your own questions instead of tacking on to such an old one. Hopefully you'll get legit responses and not ads . . . . |
