Hotel in salerno..one night??
 

I'm just finalizing up a plan for a trip in September, to begin with a flight into Naples from JFK (probable change in FCO)

Then I think we will take a look at a driver from NAP to Salerno city, overnight there, and then rent car to continue on our way, with first stop: MARATEA (5 nights). From Maratea, TURSI, and on...

Right now I wonder if anyone has a good hotel in Salerno located well enough to walk, maybe, to the Lungomare, and then to a very good dinner.

Next morning we would take taxi to rental agency and continue on, driving, to Maratea area, where we have booked for 5 nights.

June 2023 we flew to Naples spent 3 nights then took a taxi (from our hotel to insure correct fare) to Naples airport.Our car was booked directly with Auto Europe a broker in USA.
We rented from Europe Car through this broker , they seem to always have cars and good service but there are other vendors on their website.

We went directly to the car rental at Naples airport and spent one night in Paestum at Tenuta duca marigliano lovely hotel. We enjoyed Paestum visited a Lido on arrival for a quick swim, ate in town in the evening viewd the temples at night. In the AM we did a thorough visit to the temples and then went on to have lunch at a mozzarella farm before continuing on to Pisciotta.

We stayed on the Cilento Coast berfore visiting the beautiful area of Maratea. We spent 5 nights at the Villa Cheta and enjoyed every moment

Good to hear about your trip. This time in Maratea we will be staying at Villa Cheta. They now have a pool, I see, which they did not have last time we were in the area.

I still need a hotel for Salerno. Do not want to drive from Naples airport to Maratea after coming off flights from NYC.

There truly seems to be a lack of tempting hotels in Salerno..usually we find so many places we'd like to try but in this city...next to nothing.
