Hotel in Rome Choices - Canali? Albergo Cesari? Trevi?
going to rome with family, including 10 and 14 year old boys. options for a room at:
1. Albergo Cesari 2. Residence Canali ai Corinari 3. Relais Trevi 41 4. Others? Any advice? Appears Canali is in a very dark, lonely street. true? anyone stayed there? |
When are you going?
We are staying at the Canali ai Coranari in (hot, hot) July |
The Canali is just at the beginning of a small alley off the famous Via dei Coronari.
My grand-daughter and I stayed there for 4 days.We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was large, nice bathroom, great breakfast( not the continental style). great location and the staff were very nice. |
As noted before, we are staying there in July.
We stayed there about 5 years ago. I think that the ownership has changed. We had a fairly small, but comfortable double with a good bathroom (Good shower, if I remember correctly) It's on a small, quiet (for the area) street. |
We like the Cesari and the location is perfect.

I've not stayed in but have walked past the Rezidenza Canali many, many times. IT is NOT on a "dark and lonely" street. The street is pedestrian only, has many nice antique shops, a few cafes, and is one of the most charming streets in Rome. The best located on your list, IMO.
The Albergo Cesari location is also very good and worth considering. The Relais Trevi 41 is in a very "busy" part of town (too busy for me), though it, too, is convenient enough for sightseeing. I just like the neighborhood vibe much more further west (Pantheon and points west to the river). |
I stayed at Albergo Cesari with my two young adult children in October 2009. The accomodations were nice, location great, and they had a nice breakfast on their rooftop terrace to start the day. I highly recommend it!
