Hotel in Rome

Spending 2 nights in Rome early May. Any suggestions for a nice hotel in good location for US$100 or less? Something romantic a plus.

Hi, No way will you get nice, good location plus romantic, more like 300 or 400 for the above. Good luck. We did stay at the crown princess for about 300.00 per nite. You will be in Rome, the hotel does not need to be romantic, the city is full of romance.

I concur with Sandras....but define "nice" and "in a good location."

Okay, forget the romantic part. My friends stayed at a place on their honeymoon with a really cozy room and rooftop restaurant/garden for breakfast that they said was very romantic - and only about $110. Anyway, that did sound too good to be true. By "nice", I mostly mean I'd like something clean with private bath and hopefully a window. Would like to be able to get at least a cup of coffee in the morning before leaving the hotel. Is that asking too much for my price range? As for location, I'm just now trying to figure out what's where in Rome. I def. want to visit the Vatican, Basillica, Sistine Chapel one day. Day 2's itinerary is still open (I just booked the trip). Can you recommend a good, central location - - - or is it just soooooo big that I should have a definite itinerary first? Thanks.

Try Pensione Barrett--good location not far from the Pantheon, and should be within your budget range. For 5 bucks extra a day, you can have A/C. Their fax is 39-06-689-2971. They can speak English.
