Hotel in Prague/email for Maximilian?
My husband & I will be visiting Prague this summer. Based on reviews, I would like to book Golden Tulip Maximilian. To get a better rate wanted to contact hotel directly but wasn't able to find email or tel. no. If anyone has the info., would greatly appreciate. Also, will be thankful for other suggestions of a cozy, yet clean central hotel with A/C and decent size rooms/bathrooms for about $150 (w/breakfast).

Try going through
www.goldentulip.com It lists the Maximilian in Prague but states that it does not have its own Web site. There seem to be special offers of various kinds, and you can check availability and reserve. |
We stayed there year before last and loved it (Room 308). I have this as their email:
[email protected] I may have a phone number and if I find it I will post again. |
That should be hotmail not hotemail. Sorry for the typo!

I found telephone & fax:
Phone: +420 225 303 111 Fax: +420 225 303 110 |
They are owned by Golden Tulip and I think I booked through Utell (which they direct you to) once and directly by FAX another time.
Do not at all assume you are going to bargain with them and get some cheaper rate because you contact them directly. I have never heard of anyone doing that, and they are quite popular. |
Absolutely stay here. Charming. When we were there in Sept., they had the street in front all torn up. Kind of a pain. They recommended a great little restaurant nearby a few streets away and it was the best dinner of the four nights spent in Prague.

I booked two rooms with at this hotel for our trip this coming April. I got the email from the website and then sent an inquiry to the hotel. The first rate that they quoted me was the one on the websites. I declined and let them know that I wanted to stay at the hotel but that the rates were just too high for me. I kept the emails friendly and they did indeed bargain with me. After a few rounds of negotiation I ended up with a very nice rate. I had to prepay, but that works for me because as the dollar drops daily, I have my rate locked in! I always write directly to the hotel via email and I always try to negotiate. It does not always work, but there is no harm in trying. Just keep it friendly and always be ready to walk away from a rate you don't like. You might be surprised. I have gotten emails with better rates a couple of days after I responded to the hotel telling them that their rates were too high for me! Susan

ttt in case Erica hasn't returned to find all these messages.
Also I think I blew the email address even with the correction in my subsequent message: It should read: [email protected] |
I stayed at the Maximilian in September and contacted them through the website:
http://www.maximilianhotel.com The email listed on the site is: [email protected] I ended up finding a better rate through expedia than what the hotel was quoting me so that is where I booked. |
